Sustainability

At Yasuragi we’re always working towards a more sustainable world. We take responsibility for our impact on the environment and climate, as well as for the wellbeing of our guests and coworkers. Together, we can make a difference and create better conditions for the world we live in. Read about our sustainability work here.

Ecological sustainability

We take responsibility for how we impact our environment and climate. Ecological sustainability includes our energy consumption and everything related to the operation of the facility, such as purchases, consumables, waste, and transportation. Yasuragi is an eco-labeled facility.

Social sustainability

We take responsibility for ensuring that our guests and employees feel as good as possible. We also ensure that our suppliers follow laws, agreements, and ethical rules. Yasuragi collaborates, among other things, with Min Stora Dag and has donated contributions to UNHCR in 2022. We work with two types of social sustainability. Internally - Yasuragi as a workplace and Externally - Yasuragi as a company.

Sustainable Leadership

Sustainable leadership is about creating a work environment where employees feel they can make a difference. Not only for daily operations but also from a broader perspective. It is important to listen to employees' needs and visions and give them the opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable world on a personal level, within the organization, and in a larger societal perspective. A long-known truth is that when we feel good, we do good things, i.e. Feel good, Do good.

Economic Sustainability

We aim to be a competitive company driven sustainably. Economic sustainability is primarily about having the most resource-efficient operations possible and making well-considered purchases and long-term investments.

If you prefer to check in at 4:00 PM and stay until 12:00 PM, your bathing time is from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Free Bathing Time
During late evening from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and on the day of departure from 8:00 AM until your check-out, no booking of bathing time is required. For day packages and if you have booked accommodation in one of our Ryokan, you have access to the baths throughout your stay.

Silent Areas
Welcome to enjoy a little extra of the silent zones in the Japanese bath. Here is a time to breathe deeply and just be with yourself for a moment.

  1. The Cave Bath
  2. Sleeping Sauna
  3. Carbonated Bath
  4. Silent Lounge with rocking chairs - a room furnished with sound-insulating materials to truly create a quiet environment.

The outdoor hot springs have silent half-hour periods where all you hear is the water, the sounds of nature, and your breath.
