Our various saunas

Warmth and relaxation in several forms 

To sauna is beneficial for both our mental and physical health. With us, you can experience various types of saunas with different temperatures and humidity levels. The saunas below are communal. We also have dry saunas in the washing rooms for men and women, respectively.

Shiomushiburo 塩蒸し風呂 Salt Steam Sauna

Take a handful of salt with you into the steam salt sauna, scrub your body with it and let the hot, salty steam work its magic. There are hand showers inside the sauna to rinse yourself off with. Air temperature 42–43 degrees.

Sauna サウナ Dry Sauna

Take a seat in the dry sauna and let your thoughts drift as you look out over the pine trees. When you’re ready, try out the waterfall shower outside and feel the sensations in your body as you alternate between heat and cold. Air temperature 80 degrees.

Ganbanyoku 岩盤浴 Rest Sauna

A silent zone
What could be more relaxing than unwinding in our rest sauna? Rest, doze off for a while or meditate - the rest sauna is one of our silent zones, making it an ideal place for complete calm and stillness. Let the gentle warmth from the stone benches enfold you as your body and soul find peace and tranquility. Air temperature 40 degrees.

Cold Bath and Outdoor Sauna 露天風呂

Experience the contrast between heat and cold in our outdoor sauna with views over the pine trees and the Stockholm archipelago, with an invigorating cold plunge bath alongside the sauna. The sauna is inspired by a building in Nara from 8th century Japan and combines ancient history with timeless architecture. Water temperature 12 degrees.

Choose your bath time & quiet zones

If you choose to stay overnight with us, we kindly ask you to choose a bathing time in the afternoon/evening on the day of your arrival. If you wish to check in at 3:00 PM and check out at 11:00 AM, you can choose a bathing time from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM or 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. 
If you prefer to check in at 4:00 PM and stay until 12:00 PM, your bathing time is from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. 

Free Bathing Time
During late evening from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and on the day of departure from 8:00 AM until your check-out, no booking of bathing time is required. For day packages and if you have booked accommodation in one of our Ryokan, you have access to the baths throughout your stay. 

Silent Areas
Welcome to enjoy a little extra of the silent zones in the Japanese bath. Here is a time to breathe deeply and just be with yourself for a moment.

  1. The Cave Bath
  2. Sleeping Sauna
  3. Carbonated Bath
  4. Silent Lounge with rocking chairs - a room furnished with sound-insulating materials to truly create a quiet environment.

The outdoor hot springs have silent half-hour periods where all you hear is the water, the sounds of nature, and your breath.
