Zenmeditation
Daily: 07:45 – 08:15
Begin your day with this time-honored meditation practice. Zen meditation, or Zazen 坐禅 – meaning "seated meditation" (Za = to sit, Zen = meditation) – is a core element of Zen, a school of Buddhism. It's a practice of observing what is, grounding yourself in the present moment, and cultivating deeper awareness.
You will learn how to sit in the proper posture, how to calm your mind, and how to become more present with what is. The focus is on breath and posture. You'll also receive practical tips on how to continue meditating at home.

Japanese Radio Gymnastics
Daily: 08:20 – 08:35
Start your day the Japanese way – with Rajio Taiso, an energizing routine of dynamic movements!
Led by a Japanese radio DJ and your activity instructor, you’ll be guided through a fun and lively series of exercises designed to wake up your body and lift your spirits. A class full of laughter and energy that will stay with you all day long!

Morning Yoga
Daily: 09:00 – 09:30
Begin your day with calm and movement through morning yoga – a gentle way to awaken the body, find focus, and create balance for the day ahead.
With mindful breathing and gentle stretches, you’ll set a peaceful and grounded tone that will carry with you throughout the day.

Sound Healing
Daily: 10:00 – 10:45 & 17:00 – 17:45
A guided meditation accompanied by Tibetan singing bowls and crystal bowls. You lie comfortably on a yoga mat with a blanket over you, simply allowing yourself to be carried away by the healing tones.
The Sound Journey draws on ancient knowledge of the therapeutic power of sound – a moment of deep relaxation and rest.

YinYoga with Cupping
Daily: 11:15 – 12:00 & 15:30 – 16:15
Yin yoga involves gentle, passive stretches held in stillness and with deep awareness. Each position is held for 3–5 minutes, giving you time to calm the mind and connect with your body. The focus is on working with the fascia – the body's connective tissue – rather than the muscles.
During the session, cupping is also used. Silicone cups are placed on various areas of the body for 3–5 minutes to help increase blood circulation in tense muscles and further release tight fascia.

Instructor’s Choice
Daily: 13:00 – 13:45 & 20:30 – 21:15
In this session, the day’s instructor picks their personal favorite activity. Our highly trained and experienced instructors will guide you safely and confidently through the session.
The activity of the day will be displayed on our digital screens throughout the building.

Evening meditation
Daily: 19:45 – 20:15
A calming evening meditation to help you unwind and prepare for a restful night’s sleep. This session offers your nervous system a chance to slow down and settle. The day’s instructor selects their own soothing favorite to guide you through.
The evening’s specific meditation will be displayed on our digital screens throughout the building.

Kvällsyoga
Dagligen: 1/6 - 31/7 kl. 19:15 - 19.45
Avsluta dagen med stillsam yoga som hjälper dig att varva ner, släppa spänningar och förbereda kroppen för vila. Med lugna rörelser och medveten andning landar du mjukt i kvällens stillhet.

Do I need to book a time for the activities?
No, our activities are drop-in. However, space is limited, so we recommend arriving well in advance of the start time.
To secure your spot in our most popular classes – Sound Journey or Yin Yoga with cupping – we recommend pre-booking when reserving your stay. Cost: SEK 50 per person.
Out of respect for other guests, please do not enter an activity that has already begun.

What should I wear for the activities?
All our activities are designed to be performed in your yukata. You can wear a dry bathing suit, underwear, or other comfortable clothes underneath.

Do you have a gym?
Next to our Japanese garden, you’ll find our outdoor gym, which is freely available for you to use at any time. There are also beautiful walking and jogging trails in the surrounding area – just ask for a map at reception.

Can you arrive earlier or stay longer to participate in a specific activity?
No, you are welcome to participate in the activities that start and end within the timeframe of the package you have booked.

Yasuragi spa hotel, located in the middle of nature with a view over the Stockholm archipelago, offers a variety of activities for you to take a moment's rest and get the opportunity to go home with renewed energy. Our aim is for you to gain inspiration, tips, and advice to take care of yourself even after you've left Yasuragi.
The positive effects of meditation
Meditation has a number of proven long-term positive effects on various functions in your body. And the more you practice, the better the effect. Just 8 minutes of meditation a day will make a big difference.
Some of the positive effects seen from regular meditation include reduced inflammation, strengthened immune system, and improved sleep (especially deep sleep). Meditating is a good habit that will balance your nervous system by activating the parasympathetic nervous system where all mental and physical recovery takes place. It is an excellent tool for learning to manage stress and be present in the moment. These are just a few of the positive effects meditation has on our body, brain, and well-being.
Meditation is brain training
At Yasuragi, you have the opportunity to try different forms of meditation. The form that is closest to our hearts, however, is the Zen Buddhist Zen meditation, also called zazen.
Research shows that people who meditate regularly are not as controlled by their emotions and have a better ability to see events and occurrences objectively. Zen meditation is one of the oldest and most proven techniques for practicing presence and mental calmness. You will also receive some tips on how you can continue meditating at home. Do as the ancient Zen monks!
