Yasuragi - Japanese Spa and Spa Hotel in Stockholm

Welcome to Yasuragi, a unique Japanese spa hotel in Stockholm. Here awaits Japanese baths and exclusive spa treatments. Experience our unique blend of traditional Japanese culture and modern elegance, located in the scenic Nacka. Book your stay today and enjoy an experience that renews and energizes.

For nearly 30 years, Yasuragi has been a place where people come to relax from everyday life and recharge. Stillness, beauty, and harmony were keywords at the start in 1997. Today, Yasuragi offers a serene contrast between the calm and the lively.

The Japanese bath has been the foundation of Yasuragi since its opening in 1997. It began with Japanese cleansing and a small outdoor hot spring. Over the years, the concept and physical environment have constantly evolved.

In 2017, Yasuragi made its largest investment ever and rebuilt the entire Japanese bath. It became a new Japanese bathhouse. The purpose of the renovation was to come even closer to the core of Japanese bathhouse culture. In harmony with the Nordic forest and archipelago surrounding Yasuragi, a place is now being created where people can continue to find a place to exhale and let go.

It was DAP architects who, after a study trip to Japan, were tasked with creating this new environment. Their mission was to create a place to long for. For Yasuragi, it is about preserving its Japanese heritage and giving future generations a place where it is natural to come closer to the innermost core of being. Every little detail in material, spatiality, and reception should enable what is Yasuragi - the beautiful exhalation you make when you sink into a hot spring. The exhalation of the soul.

The Japanese bath is still the heart of Yasuragi. Just as before, the bathing visit begins with an introduction to Japanese cleansing, which everyone is encouraged to start with. After the thorough cleansing, there are hot springs directly in the bathing room. There is also a sleeping sauna with aromas.

When stepping out of the bathing room, you are met with an environment inspired by Japanese inner courtyards. The courtyard, consisting of a hot bath with water at 34-36 degrees, is surrounded by buildings with a cold bath, a carbonic acid bath, and a steam sauna with salt. In addition, there is a larger sanarium with a temperature of 65-80 degrees and a view of the pine forest. Going a little further inwards, there is a Japanese-style foot bath with water at about 38 degrees. There is also a sleeping sauna, an aroma sauna keeping at about 43 degrees with warm stone slabs where you can rest in seclusion in silence. Further relaxation can be found in the rock chamber where you lie in shallow pools and look up at the pleasantly lit rock wall.

The new environment has taken into account the Japanese style and is in harmony with the rugged Nordic forest and sea environment in the Stockholm archipelago. Concrete and wood are basic elements along with vegetation, including a tree adjacent to one of the buildings. The environment should feel intimate and warm, while providing spaces for everyone to find their secluded spot. Beautiful light ingress from glass walls and ceilings allows the nature outside to make its presence felt. The purpose of the renovation has primarily been to give guests more space and an enhanced Japanese experience. It has also been important to create the best possible flow for the guests. All to create simplicity in the visit. In this effort, a new hub has been built where guests are welcomed and given all the information they need. Adjacent to this welcome place are the new treatment rooms with accompanying relaxation areas after one of our delightful spa treatments. The essential bath introduction has been given its own dedicated space where guests can start their journey into Japanese bath culture in peace. Next to the tea and fruit lounge serving fine Japanese teas, there is a quiet, soundproof room with rocking chairs.

Yasuragi is a destination that is more than a spa hotel in Stockholm. The close relationship with the Japanese bathhouse culture, the Japanese-inspired meals served in our restaurants, and the activities included in every stay are in harmony with the Japan-inspired environment surrounded by the beautiful nature and pine forests of Nacka. Our hotel rooms and suites overlooking Stockholm's fantastic inlet offer a sense of Japan. Pass through our torii 鳥居 (traditional Japanese portals) and let your soul be filled with something new. Experience how your life force is restored and gain newfound strength to enjoy everyday life and all the sweetness that life has to offer.

Warmly welcome,
Yasuragi
